The so called war on Christmas, 12-7-12 commentary

I won't lie to you and tell you I understand everything our culture does. I don't even understand everything my brothers and sisters in Christ do.
Once again this year some are saying there is a war on Christmas. One of the guys who does commentary on one of the all TV - news networks has been attacking people of faith for not demanding that the world give us back Christmas.
One pro family group has come up with the Naughty and Nice Christmas Lists: On the naughty list they name those Retailers who fail to mention or totally disregard Christmas.
Now I will never understand why some followers of Jesus want permission from the government or the the world to honor the savior.
Also what is trying to give the best Christmas gifts or getting the best gifts have to do with Christ.Do people have the spirit of God just because they wish you a Merry Christmas after you buy a computer.
Here are some thoughts I have on this issue.
A. Instead of Boycotting those places who disregard Christmas go spend some money there and wish everyone there in a very Christ like way a blessed Christmas.
B. Accept there is a war on the Christian faith and on Christmas but we are not to respond the way those on TV tells us to. We should use the so called war on Christmas to explain what Christmas is about to us. Think about it on my birthday I don't expect those who don't know me to honor me.Could it be the same with God.

President Obama could change America for years to come,10-12-12 commentary

I have a question for you today. Do you think President Obama will change our nation for only two terms?
Nope President Obama and other presidents we have had or will have will change our nation for years to come.
One of the biggest ways the person in the White House does that is by judges they put on the bench including the Supreme Court.
So a question all voters should ask before they vote this November is what kind of judges would the person we vote for name. Now we know judges can change but the odds are we will get one kind of judge from Obama and another kind of judge from Romney.
Lets not forget a President can only be in office for eight years but a judge on the high court serves for life.
What do you think,

Election Blood Money, 10-19-12 commentary

Friday, October 19, 2012
Don't you think in tough times all who take money from Uncle Sam should be looked over and perhaps have their budget cut.
That is something President Obama is not willing to do. In the last debate Obama said at least three times Romney wants to cut Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood is America's number one abortion provider. There are people in America who are without jobs who truly need help but what concerns our President is money being taken away from a group which murders children. I think you would be right to call this blood money. Even if you support abortion don't you think those of us who are pro life should not have to worry about our money being used to kill babies.
What do you think,

Obama bad President, 9-14-12 commentary

I don't believe everyone is blessed with the same gifts or abilities or is everyone meant for the same job. I also believe President Obama is a good guy. However I don't believe he is a good president.
A recent example has to be how he is handling the current crisis in the middle east. He keeps saying he is sorry a video upset Radical followers of Islam which he blames in the killing of four Americans including a U.S. ambassador.
Obama keeps blaming the killings which happen on September 11 on a video that was posted on You Tube. Instead President Obama should be showing holy angry over what happened and demanding that the killers be brought to justice.
This White House also has been slow in calling this evil act which took place on the ann. of the 911 attacks terrorism.
When evil souls see us as weak it gives them faith that they can harm us.

Thanks Demcrats, 9-7-12 commentary

I believe we should give thanks when somebody does something to help us don't you.
So today I want to thank a group of people. My thanks go to the Democrats meeting this week in N.C. They made it easy to remind me why I left that political party some years back or as the late President Reagun use to say why the Democrats left me.
Here is what the Democrats did this week..
They took the name of God out of their platform. Then they put him back in a move which was booed by some Democrats.
I know there are good and even some Godly souls who are Democrats but the party as a whole has been taken over by the radical left. If you vote Democrat please understand you are voting for people that are anti faith, anti Israel, along with being pro abortion and pro gay rights. Thanks Democrats for making it so easy for me.

46 Years ago,8-31-12 commentary

I think it is good to look back at history don't you. That is a good thing for nations, churches, families, and for Individuals to do.
Back on August 31, 1966 a guy named Billy or William David Dickon was born to Betty and William M. Dickson. That is right I am 46 years old today.I thank God he gave me life along with loving parents and a family. Of course as great as the gift of life is nothing compares to him letting me be born twice as in born again spirituality. I bless God that he gave me salvation and it is the Lord who did it.I am also thankful on my 46th birthday in good times and in bad times he is bringing me closer to him.

Eating at Chick-Fil-A Won't Change Our Culture: August 10, 2012 commentary

Non believers can't act like believers. It is not in their nature right?
My mom and I last week ate at Chick-Fil-A like many others. We wanted to support a company that is standing up for traditional family values and back the free speech of others. However if we think the way to change our sinful culture is just to eat chicken we are in dream land. Look at how many Christian marriages are breaking up.To change our culture we need to recommit our own marriages to the Lord. Above all the way to change sinners is to share through our life and words the soul changing message of Jesus. I know what changed my values was faith in Jesus. Again I support Chick-Fil-A but going to Chick-Fil-A is not going to change a sinner but Jesus is going to do that.

Christians United for Israel Concern, 8-3-12 Commentary

Don't you think the most important thing for all of us who are believers in Jesus is being faithful to God.
For the most part I support the nation of Israel. I believe there are followers of radical Islam who would like to kill every Jewish person, and rid the world of the nations of Israel and America.
However I think us believers need to be careful and not forget everyone including Jewish souls need Jesus. There is a group called Christians United for Israel. At a recent CUFI meeting Joe Lieberman said something like this Christians and Jews follow the same God. Christians and Jews should be friends but we don't follow the same God. All souls including Jewish souls need Jesus to be there Lord and our love for Israel should not keep us from telling Jewish people the truth.

Responding to AURORA, COLORADO, 7-27-12 Commentary

So how should we respond to the evil act that took place at that movie
MOVIE THEATER IN AURORA, COLORADO.
A. First off you and I can not explain evil without referring to it as sin as the Bible calls it. Guns are not to blame for this a sinner with a gun is to blame for this crime. A gun in the hand of a police officer can do much good.
B. What do we expect when we don't value human life. We kill unborn kids in our nation. Every person who is murdered should be mourned if that soul is a unborn child or somebody attending a movie.
C. Those of us who are followers of Jesus should remind our culture that God still cares. God never promised us a life free of bad things but if we trust in him he will help us through any crisis.
Pray for the people of AURORA, COLORADO.

Jerry Springer Backs Obama, 7-20-12 Commentary

Don't you think you can tell what a person's values is by who they hang out with. Before taking the stage at an event in Cincinnati President Obama attended a closed-door fundraiser with a group of supporters, among them (sit down for this) nationally syndicated talk show host Jerry Springer.
According to the pool report, Springer said afterward "I just don't see why we wouldn't want him for four more years as president." Springer served as a one-term Democratic mayor of Cincinnati in 1977 at the age of 33 and has occasionally made appearances at Democratic rallies.
Democrats is this the kind of values you want for your party and you want in the WhiteHouse for four more years.
Jerry Springer stands for the kind of values that are making America go downhill. It looks like President Obama follows the values of Jerry Springer doesn't it. What do you think.

The M Word, 7-13-12 Commentary

The M. Word.
Do you think it would be right for a Jewish person, or a soul who doesn't believe in God at all not to vote for somebody solely because they are a Bible based follower of Jesus Christ. I know the majority of you are saying of course it would not be cool.
Let me change that to the M. Word. Is it right for Bible based followers of Jesus not to vote for a Mormon. Lets get first things out of the way Mormons are not true followers of Jesus. At least according to the Bible I read. Mormons don't believe in the Trinity. However voting for a Mormon is another issue. As the late Chuck Colson said we are not electing a Pastor but somebody to lead our nation. What believers in Jesus should do is vote for
those who hold values which are the closet to theirs out of those on the ballot. If that be a Mormon, a Jew, or non believer.

Reaching Middle School Kids, 7-6-12

Don't you think kids in our culture need to be reached.
Like most of you I was outrage by the N.Y. school bus monitor who was bullied to tears by a group of middle school children.
I heard one soul on Fox News say these kids belong in prison. No they don't. Yes, what they did was an outrage and perhaps a taste of the paddle at home and at school would change their behavior but the answer is not prison. Punishment yes prison no. In prison they would be around some hard core people who might encourage them to do worst things like murder and rape.
Today's young people need to be taught Bible based values. They need to be told that there is a God who made them , loves them, and he has rules for living. Something they are not getting from much of the culture including the government schools.

Calling Church Off Can Be Good, 6-22-12 Commentary

Can it ever be good for a church to cancel services?
A goal I have for my blog is to point out people that are making difference for good and Godly things.
I also want to discuss on these commentaries churches that are making a difference in our culture for good and Godly things. Too many churches have become Christian clubs for believers on Sunday morning and don't even give thought to a world full of dying souls.
However there are some Bible teaching churches which are doing what Master Jesus taught about going into the whole world.
Shadow Lake Community Church in Papillion, Nebraska is such a church. A few weeks ago it canceled services at the church so its members could volunteer their time with different ministries that are reaching out. Shadow Lake Community Church is a MAD church a make a difference church. Thank God for them and the other mad churches which are touching people with the love of Jesus.

Food Police, 6-8-12 Commentary

Don't you think it should be parents who raise kids not the government or the creators of cartoons.
On Tuesday, The Walt Disney Company announced that it will require advertisers on its media properties (including ABC Saturday morning cartoons) to follow strict new set of nutritional guidelines.
I am all for people having good health habits but I also find it funny in a sad way that Disney wants to keep kids from eating foods that might not be good for them but they have gay days at their parks when kids see sinful sexual behaviors in public which may not be good for their souls.
Disney was once known as a family friendly group but not today. Disney needs to let parents and no one else police their kids eating habits.

Some Leaders in the USA Are on the same Page as the Heads of China ,6-1-12 commentary

Please forgive me if I sound angry today but I am upset. Most good people in America would say we are and should be different than the evil leaders of China right. Here is one way that there is not much difference between China and us in the good old USA. Yesterday Democrats in the House of Representatives voted down a bill that would ban sex selective abortions. The legislation needed a two-thirds vote and Democrats voted overwhelmingly against the legislation after President Barack Obama and Planned Parenthood came out in opposition.
In defending President Obama's opposition to the bill, the White House Press Secretary said, "the end result of this legislation would be to subject doctors to criminal prosecution if they fail to determine the motivations behind a very personal and private decision. That is a lie. The truth is the bill would punish doctors who did abortions based on the sex of the child. Sad but this is one issue where some of our leaders are on the same page as the evil leaders in China.

Hearing Other Sides, 5-25-12 Commentary

Don't you think it is good to hear what others think. Awhile back somebody said to me they were upset with a writer from our local newspaper because they disagreed with a stand she had taken. I tried to defend the writer's right to be heard.
Think about this if we could get people taken off of TV, radio, and removed from the newspapers just because they don't see things the way we do could they not do the same to us and those who think like we do. One of the things that makes America so great is we have the right to express our views. You can't do that in Cuba or China.
We should never compromise what we believe and for us who are followers of Jesus that includes things like the Bible being the word of God at the same time we should be willing to read, and hear the views of others.

President Obama Not All Matters Are Funny, 5-18-12 Commentary

Don't you agree somethings should not be joked about.
Well guess who told a joke on what should be a non laughing matter. AT THE WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT’S DINNER IN WASHINGTON a few weeks ago President Obama MADE A JOKE ABOUT THE SECRET SERVICE SCANDAL. HE SAID HE HAD MORE MATERIAL BUT HAD TO GET HIS AGENTS HOME IN TIME IN OBSERVANCE OF THEIR NEW CURFEW.
I WONDER IF THE WIVES AND CHILDREN OF THOSE AGENTS Thought THE PRESIDENT’S JOKE was funny.I’LL BET THEY didn't laugh at it. Nothing is funny about a trust in a marriage being broken. President Obama doesn't seem to be mature enough to understand that. And he is the one who in the last election the majority of the voters trusted to lead us. He doesn't seem mature to me does he to you?

standing up to homosexual activists and praying for them, 5-11-12 Commentary

Do you recall the value that your parents or your grandparents might have taught you don't say anything at all unless it is nice.
That is a value that homosexual activist Dan Savage, who speaks at anti-bullying conferences across the country needs to embrace.
Speaking at the National High School Journalism Convention, Savage, who was supposed to talk about how to report bullying, instead used his time to bash the Bible and Christians, causing many to walk out. Then, he made profane references to those who left.
Good for the students who walked out. We need to stand up with the truth to souls like Savage while still praying for them to be reached with the truth.

20 Years After the LA Riots, 5-4-12 Commentary

Listen to the audio http://billydteacher.wordpress.com/2012/05/04/the-la-riots-20-years-later-5-4-12-commentary/

Twenty years ago, Los Angeles erupted in riots after four cops were acquitted in the videotaped beating of Rodney King.
I recall the LA riots because my brother had just moved out to Los Angeles to start a job with NBC at Jay Leno's tonight show.

Here are some thougts I have twenty years after the riots...
First off too many on the left and so called civil rights leaders condoned the riots by saying young blacks are tired of not being treated right instead of saying we are a nation of laws.
Those who condemned the police in Los Angeles where are they when cops are shot or abused.
Above all the riots happened because the break down of the family and value free education. In too many homes and schools and even in some churches young people are not being taught the right values. The jury ruling was just an excuse for the riots but the main reason the riots took place was the break down of values.

Faithful Chuck Colson,4-27-12 commentary

A lot of people and much of the media will remember Chuck Colson who died last Saturday for his crimes to do with Watergate but I will remember him for being faithful.Chuck was committed to what the Bible taught about visiting those in prison as if you were visiting Jesus himself. When Chuck Colson left prison, he promised to remember the men who remained behind bars. “I will never forget you guys!” he told them.
And for 36 years, Chuck faithfully kept his word.In 1976, he founded Prison Fellowship, a ministry dedicated to living out Jesus’ command to remember the incarcerated and share the transformational love of Jesus Christ with them and their families.
“I could never, ever have left prison and accomplished what has been accomplished but for God doing it through me,” Chuck once said.
God Bless Chuck Colson, and God Bless his family.

listen to the audio of this commentary at the following link..,
http://billydteacher.wordpress.com/2012/04/20/holocaust-remembrance-4-20-12-commentary/
Don't you think we need to recall evil events so that we don't see evil history repeated.
I am writing this commentary on Thursday, April 19th. In 1951, Israel's parliament established this day April 19 as Holocaust Remembrance Day, so as to never forget the evil genocide of two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population at the hands of Adolph Hitler's Nazi regime. Later, U.S. Congress established the Days of Remembrance, scheduled this year from April 15-22, We must remember the more than six million Jews who were killed during the Nazi Holocaust between 1938 and 1945. don’t you think.

School board member wants coach fired for his views, 4-13-12 commentary

Regardless who you are here in America don't you have the freedom to speak your mind? Don't you? A school board member in Lincoln, Nebraska wants a football coach fired. What did he do abuse some child?
Nope he spoke his mind.
The coach is Ron Brown and he works for the University of Nebraska. As I told you in another commentary Coach Brown awhile back spoke out against a special ordinance to give special rights to gays and lesbians. The openly gay member of the Lincoln school board wrote a letter asking the university to fire Brown. Brown is not backing down "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever," he said "I have no fear of any man or any thing."
Good for Coach Brown.
Doesn't Brown as an American have a right to speak his mind.Oh I forgot Brown stands for Bible based values so some want to limit his freedoms.

Modern America., and a Wasted Life, 3-30-12 Commentary

Listen to audio

Don’t you think some of the things we read in the Bible could apply to America in our day? I am attending Bible College and awhile back I completed the class in the book of Judges. So if you don’t mind I thought for this week’s commentary I would outline some of the things I have learned by taking that class. In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes. Says Judges 21:25.

Kings in the Bible means authority. So Judges 21:25 not only tells us what happened in the day of Judges but do I dare say it might also apply to modern America. In our land today many souls have forgotten God and are doing whatever feels good. Also one of the souls in the book of Judges was a guy named Samson who God used but he also did some sinful things. He was right with the Lord but his life was wasted. You can be saved and have a wasted life. We all should want to not have lives which are wasted. God not only wants to save our souls but he wants to do Godly things through and in us after we are saved. Don’t you think.

What do you think.

Free Condoms, 3-23-12 Commentary

(Listen to the commentary )

Don’t you think adults should help young people do what is right instead of encouraging  behavior that is wrong and might be a risk to the good health of a child.
A Massachusetts school system is considering giving free condoms to students to help prevent sexually transmitted diseases, the Springfield School Committee has decided to enforce the "Comprehensive Reproductive Health Policy," which would provide free condoms for high school and junior high students sit down for this  as young as 12 years old.  MassResistance! says Springfield has had a comprehensive sex ed program in place for a long time. I guess the school’s program of teaching kids safe sex is working because  young people are  still getting pregnant. If you live in  Massachusetts this just  might be another reason to remove your child from the government schools.

Methodist Church decline, 3-16-12 Commentary

Don’t you think churches should mostly put their focus on preaching the message of salvation in Jesus and teaching what the word of God says.
Membership at the United Methodist Church, once the largest Protestant denomination in the U.S., and other mainline denominations continues to decline. Mark Tooley, president of The Institute on Religion & Democracy (IRD) and author of Methodism in the 20th Century, attributes the decay to the church's position on political matters.

Mark Tooley (IRD)"As the church moved left theologically starting with the early 20th century, especially in the 1920s, it also moved left politically," he explains. "And on that journey, much of Methodism seemed to forget the original recipe of its success in early America, which was not involvement with the details of politics, but of course was focused on proclamation of the gospel … the preaching of salvation, and the transformation of individual lives.
All I can say is Amen Mark.

No Tolerance for Moral Values, 3-9-12 Commentary

Don't you think tolerance should be shown to those of us who hold Bible based and moral based views.
The city leaders here in Omaha, Nebraska this last Tuesday debated giving special rights to gay or transgender residents.
Ron Brown, a Nebraska football coach, talked before the Omaha City Council in opposition to the ordinance.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor Harvey Perlman took assistant Husker football coach Ron Brown to task Thursday for not making it clear he was not speaking for the university when he testified.

Why do those who teach at the nation's colleges never have to make it clear that they are not speaking for the colleges they work at when they come out in support for special rights for gays. Perhaps that is because they are speaking for those schools.

Obey God Rather than Men, 3-2-12 Commentary

Listen to the audio

In today’s commentary I want read part of a newsletter that was sent out  to folks who support the work I do.          I hope you don't mind but I thought this month I would write about an issue which is political but at the same time  is making an impact in the faith community.
President Obama is trying to force members of the Catholic Church   to pay for  birth control-  INSURANCE  COVERAGE.. I pray for President Obama and all of our leaders everyday but I will follow my God and my convictions before I follow any man or woman regardless which political party he or she belongs to. Even though most of us Evangelicals don't follow the doctrine of the Catholic Church when it comes to birth control the issue is should government make people of faith go against their faith and if it tries to what should the  faithful do. Don't you think we should  obey God rather than men like Peter did in the book of Acts when he was ordered to go against his faith. What do you think?

Accidental burning of some Korans, 2-24-12 Commentary

A mistake means it was not done on purpose right?   We should say we are sorry when we hurt somebody on purpose but should we keep saying we are sorry when we make a mistake. Don’t you think if we have  apologized once that should be enough. Well President Obama, a general  and other leaders in our nation  keep saying they are sorry for the accidental burning of some Korans. It was a mistake what is not a mistake is the rioting that has taken place  in Afghanistan by radical followers of Islam which has led to the death of Americans. Also why does President Obama speak out on this but keeps quiet on a Pastor in Iran who is about to be put to death because he won’t reject his faith in Christ.

Can We Afford Four More Years, 2-17-12 Commentary

Don’t you think those in politics at times get their focus on the wrong prize? Take what is taking place now between those who are running for President. In my humble view they are putting too much focus on those who they are running against instead of  focusing on what President Obama has done to America and how they can change it. They should be asking the American voters if we can afford another four years of Obama. I don’t think we can do you? I pray and hope the majority of American voters will see by election day that we can not. What do you think.

Kings Values: 1-16-12 Commentary

Listen to the commentary http://billydteacher.wordpress.com/2012/01/16/2052/

Today Monday, January 16, is Martin Luther King Day. Some Schools will be closed though I think it might be better to keep those schools opened and teach the kids about Martin Luther King but of course the kids aren’t going to hear about the values which guided King in the government schools.

During his Birmingham civil rights campaign, Dr. King required every participant to sign a pledge committing to do ten things. The first was to “meditate daily on the teachings and life of Jesus.” Others included the expectation that all participants would “walk and talk in the manner of love, for God is love;” and “pray daily to be used by God in order that all men might be free.”

Those of us who value life should be thankful for Dr. King.

Ron Paul Would Be Worst than Obama, 1-6-12 Commentary

Listen to the commentary

Are you a Ron Paul backer? If so do you support the Jewish State the nation of Israel who is one of America’s only friends in the middle east. If so listen to this.

David Rubin is an author. He remembers Paul's reaction three years ago, when Israel responded to terrorist rocket attacks on its innocent citizens."Ron Paul was on the news criticizing Israel for responding and referring to the Israeli troops surrounding Gaza as turning the Palestinians into like concentration camp victims," Rubin recalls. "This is absolutely anti-Israel."

Ron Paul would be worst than Obama when it comes to Israel. Don’t you think we need to support a friend like Israel.

What do you think.

2012 Goals/Desires, 1-2-12 Commentary

Happy New Year! Listen to the commentary
Something I do every News Years Eve and or New Year’s Day is to make out my goals and or desires for the new year in fact I make out goals the first day of every month for the following 30 days. Perhaps you might want do the same this new year. Now don’t forget goals are things you have control over desires are things you want to happen but have no control over. How about having as a goal to find out what God’s will is. A way to do that is by opening up the Bible and reading it. Even if you are a non believer that would be a good goal because shouldn’t you know who you have said yes or no to.
What do you think.
