Hearing Other Sides, 5-25-12 Commentary

Don't you think it is good to hear what others think. Awhile back somebody said to me they were upset with a writer from our local newspaper because they disagreed with a stand she had taken. I tried to defend the writer's right to be heard.
Think about this if we could get people taken off of TV, radio, and removed from the newspapers just because they don't see things the way we do could they not do the same to us and those who think like we do. One of the things that makes America so great is we have the right to express our views. You can't do that in Cuba or China.
We should never compromise what we believe and for us who are followers of Jesus that includes things like the Bible being the word of God at the same time we should be willing to read, and hear the views of others.

President Obama Not All Matters Are Funny, 5-18-12 Commentary

Don't you agree somethings should not be joked about.
Well guess who told a joke on what should be a non laughing matter. AT THE WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT’S DINNER IN WASHINGTON a few weeks ago President Obama MADE A JOKE ABOUT THE SECRET SERVICE SCANDAL. HE SAID HE HAD MORE MATERIAL BUT HAD TO GET HIS AGENTS HOME IN TIME IN OBSERVANCE OF THEIR NEW CURFEW.
I WONDER IF THE WIVES AND CHILDREN OF THOSE AGENTS Thought THE PRESIDENT’S JOKE was funny.I’LL BET THEY didn't laugh at it. Nothing is funny about a trust in a marriage being broken. President Obama doesn't seem to be mature enough to understand that. And he is the one who in the last election the majority of the voters trusted to lead us. He doesn't seem mature to me does he to you?
WHAT WE TOLERATE WE GET MORE OF.
What do you think,

standing up to homosexual activists and praying for them, 5-11-12 Commentary

Do you recall the value that your parents or your grandparents might have taught you don't say anything at all unless it is nice.
That is a value that homosexual activist Dan Savage, who speaks at anti-bullying conferences across the country needs to embrace.
Speaking at the National High School Journalism Convention, Savage, who was supposed to talk about how to report bullying, instead used his time to bash the Bible and Christians, causing many to walk out. Then, he made profane references to those who left.
Good for the students who walked out. We need to stand up with the truth to souls like Savage while still praying for them to be reached with the truth.

20 Years After the LA Riots, 5-4-12 Commentary

Listen to the audio http://billydteacher.wordpress.com/2012/05/04/the-la-riots-20-years-later-5-4-12-commentary/

Twenty years ago, Los Angeles erupted in riots after four cops were acquitted in the videotaped beating of Rodney King.
I recall the LA riots because my brother had just moved out to Los Angeles to start a job with NBC at Jay Leno's tonight show.

Here are some thougts I have twenty years after the riots...
First off too many on the left and so called civil rights leaders condoned the riots by saying young blacks are tired of not being treated right instead of saying we are a nation of laws.
Those who condemned the police in Los Angeles where are they when cops are shot or abused.
Above all the riots happened because the break down of the family and value free education. In too many homes and schools and even in some churches young people are not being taught the right values. The jury ruling was just an excuse for the riots but the main reason the riots took place was the break down of values.
