Christmas peace, children killed, and where was God, 12-25-12 Commentary

Where was God? That is a question many souls are asking after what took place at that grade school in Connecticut. Where was God when all those children were murdered. How could a good God allow that. It is terrible something like that happens around Christmas. Those are some of the feelings souls have expressed.
Some have said should not Christmas bring peace instead of children being killed. Some have acted like God was not there because he has been ordered out of the government schools by the court. Though that is not correct either legally, or is that correct far as Theology goes.
We often get the idea Christmas should bring about peace. Well where was God when all those children were murdered. No not in Connecticut but back around that first Christmas. You see the birth of the Christ child so upset an evil human King that he ordered little children to be murdered. When we say God brings peace to us that doesn't mean this world will always be a peaceful place but every soul that calls on the name of the Lord can live at peace because they know their soul is right with the Lord. So where was God when those killings happen in Connecticut the same place he was that first Christmas when evil King Herald order those little children killed. Matthew 1: 23 reads “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”[d] (which means “God with us”).
Jesus came to be part of our lives. He came to help us have peace in our souls even while our world is at war. He will do that if we will admit we are sinners and that he took the punishment for our sins.
Have a blessed Christmas.
Until next time,

Guns, mental illness, and evil, 12-21-12 commentary

Before I get to today's commentary let me inform you I hope to post a special commentary here on the blog on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve .
A lot of people are asking why did that horrible school shooting take place in
Connecticut one week ago. There have been talk we need to get rid of all guns and blame is being put on the NRA. While we pray for that grade school and the families of the dead we do need to address some issues.
A. First off there has been talk that a mental illness that the shooter had is the reason. While mental illness is never an excuse it can be a reason. At the same time there are many souls who suffer from mental illness that would never think of doing something horrible like shooting up a school full of kids and teachers. There does need to be much discussion on what can be done to help those who have a mental illness and their families.
B. Guns and the NRA also are not to blame. A gun in the hands of a responsible citizen or police officer can do much good including stopping a horrible crime.
C. What is to blame is evil and sin. We as a nation and culture have bought into the lie that people are basically good. It is interesting that no ACLU chapter has gotten upset over President Obama referring to the Bible after the shooting or people in C.T. asking for prayer. Perhaps it is because we have rejected God's plan in our schools and culture that we have evil taking place today.
Pray for the people of Connecticut and for America.
What do you think.
Until next time,

No Tolerance for Moral Values, 3-9-12 Commentary

Don't you think tolerance should be shown to those of us who hold Bible based and moral based views.
The city leaders here in Omaha, Nebraska this last Tuesday debated giving special rights to gay or transgender residents.
Ron Brown, a Nebraska football coach, talked before the Omaha City Council in opposition to the ordinance.
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Chancellor Harvey Perlman took assistant Husker football coach Ron Brown to task Thursday for not making it clear he was not speaking for the university when he testified.

Why do those who teach at the nation's colleges never have to make it clear that they are not speaking for the colleges they work at when they come out in support for special rights for gays. Perhaps that is because they are speaking for those schools.

Kings Values: 1-16-12 Commentary

Listen to the commentary http://billydteacher.wordpress.com/2012/01/16/2052/

Today Monday, January 16, is Martin Luther King Day. Some Schools will be closed though I think it might be better to keep those schools opened and teach the kids about Martin Luther King but of course the kids aren’t going to hear about the values which guided King in the government schools.

During his Birmingham civil rights campaign, Dr. King required every participant to sign a pledge committing to do ten things. The first was to “meditate daily on the teachings and life of Jesus.” Others included the expectation that all participants would “walk and talk in the manner of love, for God is love;” and “pray daily to be used by God in order that all men might be free.”

Those of us who value life should be thankful for Dr. King.

2012 Goals/Desires, 1-2-12 Commentary

Happy New Year! Listen to the commentary
Something I do every News Years Eve and or New Year’s Day is to make out my goals and or desires for the new year in fact I make out goals the first day of every month for the following 30 days. Perhaps you might want do the same this new year. Now don’t forget goals are things you have control over desires are things you want to happen but have no control over. How about having as a goal to find out what God’s will is. A way to do that is by opening up the Bible and reading it. Even if you are a non believer that would be a good goal because shouldn’t you know who you have said yes or no to.

2012 Picks

Listen to the commentary

What will be the top stories of 2012?

I am not a prophet or the son of one so call what I am about to say guesses.

As I said four years ago I once again predict Obama will be a one term president.

Radical Islam will keep growing and be a danger to us in the west.

Those of us who believe the Bible and believe the gay life is sinful will be made more and more out to be the bad guys.

The movement against the Christian faith in the government, the culture, and in the government schools will keep growing.

Some big or well known ministry will have some terrible crisis because they have forgotten the love of God I am sorry to post.

Well those are some of my picks. Only God knows what will happen and our faith needs to be in him not in those who will lead us or would like to lead us or anyone or anything else.

Our Greatest Need, and Christmas, 12-25-11 Commentary

Listen to the audio of the commentary

A Merry Christmas to you and yours. Here is something Max Lucade read on his radio program the other day.
If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator.
If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist.
If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist.
If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer.
But our greatest need was forgiveness, so God sent us a Savior.
It isn’t Christmas until it happens in your heart. So take Jesus today and then it really will be Christmas for you.
Please have a blessed Christmas.

Christopher Hitchens Life/Death, 1219-11 Commentary

Christopher Hitchens is dead. His life was ended thanks to the horrible illness of cancer. Chris was known for speaking out against God. He wrote the book God Is Not Great. After Dr. Jerry Falwell died he said it was a shame there was no hell for Dr. Falwell to go to. But before we condemn Hitchens we all should recall the one thief on the cross who came to faith just before his earthly life ended and accept that we all deserve hell because all of us are sinners. I hope Mr. Hitchens saw he was wrong before he died if not that is sadden than his death.

Tim Tebow is Like Paul, 12-9-11 Commentary

:Friday, December 09, 2011

Listen to the commentary here.
Tim Tebow perhaps should be nicknamed the Paul of football. Paul who wrote much of the New Testament said in Romans 1: 16 that he was not ashamed of the message of Jesus.

Like Paul Tebow has been given a hard time in the NFL for standing up for the Lord. During a recent game when Tim knelt on the field and prayed a Detroit linebacker did the same when he sacked Tebow. Only he wasn't praying--he was mocking. Like several people, one sports writer said it crossed the line. "Do you think the world would have been so accepting if players mocked a non-Christian?" he wrote. "The NFL would immediately send him to sensitivity training."

Tim is a good example lets hope more young people follow his example.

Obama Doesn't Give Thanks to God, 11-28-11 Commentary

(audio)

"The Thanksgiving radio address the U.S. President gives to the public had an unusual twist this year -- there was absolutely no religious reference in it., Barack Obama's omission of God in the Thanksgiving message was yet another signal of just how boldly secularist is his vision of America." That was posted by my friend Denny Hartford on his blog .

Denny also posted the following... Regardless of polls, politics or economics, Barack Obama does have a set of core beliefs that he religiously (pun intended) sticks to. That's why he is willing to shut down the government to keep taxpayer money going to Planned Parenthood."

Amen Denny. The Bible says by their fruit you will know them has Obama given us any fruit to show he wants to encourage us to thank God for what he has done for America?

Happy Thanksgiving! 11-24-11 Commentary

(audio)

Thanksgiving Day 2011:

Happy Thanksgiving Day 2011. I hope today in between eating and watching football you won’t forget to give thanks first to God and then to those who have blessed you.

Here is what I am thankful for: America- the best nation in the world. My family. The abilities I have been given to share the love and truth of God. Those who support the work I do.

Above all I am thankful for God who gave Jesus Christ so by simple faith in him my sins can be forgiven and I can be given salvation.

Honest at Wallmart, 11-18-11 Commentary

A few weeks ago I was in my local Wallmart store. I added the things up in my cart and went to pay for them. I was shocked when I was told how much my total cost was. No it wasn’t too much I thought it would cost more.

I left the store but as I looked at the sales slip of how much I had been charged I saw I had not been charged for a print cartage I had bought. I went back into the story and paid for the item. The cashier thanked me for being honest. I said something like I am a follower of Jesus and he would want me to do that.

I share this not to be praised but to say for those of us who follow Christ this should be our normal lifestyle.

If not we are not a good witness for our Lord. Don’t you think.

Thanksgiving 11-3-11 Commentary

(audio )

This month we celebrate Thanksgiving. I thought today I would tell you some of what I am thankful for.

I am thankful for a God who loves me in spite of my short comings.

I am thankful for my family.

I am thankful for the gifts God has given me.

I am thankful for those of you who listen to these radio commentaries.

Above all I am thankful for Jesus who has provided a way to heaven if we will only come to him on his terms.

Now a side note tomorrow I will have a very special commentary it will be my last one.

Rev. Jimmy Creech and the Bible 11-1-11 Commentary

( listen to the commentary)

If a soul is called to be a Pastor should they not be committed to all of God’s word instead of trying to change the culture and make it into a creation of the radical left.

It has been more than a decade since then-Rev. Jimmy Creech made Nebraska a focus in the American culture wars by performing same-sex union ceremonies that eventually led to the stripping of his credentials as a Methodist minister.

Creech, now 66, has continued to be an activist on same sex marriage and related issues, Some say Creech didn’t follow the teachings of his church but a worst offense is that Creech disobeyed God’s word. He will have to defend his actions before God one day. Church Laws can be wrong but God’s word is never wrong.

Halloween 10-31-11 Commentary

( MP3 )

Tonight is Halloween. Kids all over America will be dressing up. Followers of Jesus have different views on this holiday. I think it might be a great night to meet your neighbors by taking the kids in your neighborhood to a church harvest party, or passing out some Christian tracks with the candy you give out however not everyone agrees with me. One thing all followers of Jesus should agree with we are in a spiritual fight with the devil.

These are the reasons I believe in a real devil... The Bible says there is one, How does one explain evil, and just look at what is taking place in the news. How can there not be a devil but Jesus is greater than he. What do you think.

Preachers Should Focus on Jesus, Not Voting 10-28-11 Commentary

A Pastor who recently was encouraging people to vote for somebody said another man who is running for President who happens to belong to the Mormon church belongs to a cult.

I happen to agree that the Mormon church is a cult but should a Pastor get involved with politics I don’t think so. Pastors should address political issues that can be found in the Bible like on abortion, and marriage but they should not tell us because somebody happens to be a Christian or a Mormon we should vote for or against him/her.

The message of salvation in Jesus and teaching God’s word should be the first priory preachers are concerned about not politics.

Standing up for Jesus in Iran Could Cost you Your Life 10-26-11

Would you stand up for Jesus if it might end your life. A Pastor in Iran has been charged with apostasy: in this case, converting from Islam to Christianity. I am recording this on Friday, October 14 but you won’t hear it until October 26 this Pastor might already be dead when you hear this. The trouble for this Pastor started when he complained about his son being forced to read from the Koran. That was brave of him to do. This Pastor has been sentenced to death for his refusal to “repent and go back to Islam.

What would you do if you were that Pastor would you stand for Jesus. Pray for our brothers and sisters who unlike us here in the West are truly suffering for the Lord around the world in places like Iran.

No More Rosary at School 10-24-11 Commentary

If we outlaw everything good that has been used for bad would we not outlaw everything.

The Fremont Nebraska school district has banned a necklace that looks like a rosary after police told officials it’s also being worn by gang members.

I am not Catholic and I don’t believe in saying a prayer using a rosary but why is a government school stopping something that some students and their parents believe in. The Schools allow everything sinful but not anything that speaks kindly of faith. Perhaps it is time for Catholic parents to remove their children from the government schools. Is this school also going to band the Cross because the KKK has used it. Oh I forgot this is a government school so the cross is already outlawed from it. What do you think.

Mitt Romney's Faith (the Mormon Church) 10-21-11 Commentary

  • (mp3 )

  • I want to enforce this is not a political commentary. I may even end up voting for Gov. Mitt Romney, this is a commentary about the faith that Gov. Romney follows (the Mormon Church). Mitt Romney has said his faith believes in Jesus Christ.
  • This is what the Mormon church believes..
  • Jesus Christ was conceived by sexual intercourse between God and the Virgin Mary.
  • The Bible is filled with errors and the Book of Mormon and the words of all Mormon prophets must be valued ahead of the Bible.
  • God was once human like us, , and “became God” through faith and good works — just as we can do ourselves.
  • It doesn’t look to me like the Mormon faith is teaching the Jesus Christ of the Bible does it to you.

Prayers to Jesus No, Islam Prayers Yes 10-20-11 Commentary

(mp3)
Why does the ACLU back some faith based souls but not others. The ANC (American News Commentary) reported in its September 21, 2011 issue that the ACLU is defending the right of Muslims to exercise prayer in public schools in San Diego… Really? I am not joking.
Over the last 40 years or so, the ACLU has terrified many school boards, school administrators, and school children by threatening to drag them into court if they pray in public. However now they are going to back followers of Islam who want to express their faith in the government schools.
I guess the ACLU knows that Christians and Jews won’t murder those who try to stop them but followers of Islam will. Christians will just pray for those who are against them unlike followers of Islam.
What do you think.
